Tips for maintaining a healthy weight

It’s nearly holiday season which can generally mean a little too much over indulgence. If you need drop some extra kilos before the holidays start then you can lose weight with Optifast, a great weight loss system. Or if you are worried about putting some extra kilos on then here are some great tips to help you maintain a healthy weight this silly season.

1. Have healthy snacks available

It’s even harder to resist those delicious fattening treats if you are hungry so keep healthy snacks on you all the time. That way you are able to quickly reach for something healthy should hunger strike or you are tempted to reach for those chocolates. Healthy snack ideas could be raw nuts, fruit, vege sticks, protein shakes or some delicious healthy raw protein balls.

2. Walk walk walk everywhere

We always make the habit of taking the quickest route possible, whether that’s in our car or walking. To keep at a healthy weight and your calories burning start walking the longer route home, or perhaps use the stairs at work instead of the lift. Next time you need to pop down the road to pick up some milk, rather then jumping in your car, take a walk. All those extra calories burnt add up over the long term.

3. Reduce the portions

It’s very easy to overeat, so when treating yourself just be mindful of your portion sizes. Having a small sliver of cake won’t kill you but you will definitely put on weight if you go back for seconds. If you are heading to a dinner party snack on a big plate of raw veges before you go. That way you will have filled your tummy with healthy food, which will prevent you from overeating the unhealthy food. Besides, you can also try medical weight loss treatments after consulting your doctor. For example, Wegovy in Sacramento contains the active ingredient semaglutide which works by reducing appetite and helping individuals feel full more quickly, which can lead to weight loss.

4. Pick up a sport or hobby you enjoy

You are more likely to get exercise in, if you really enjoy it. No point slogging it out at the gym day in and day out if it’s just going to make you miserable and quit after a few month. So find a sport or hobby that you enjoy and stick to that. It could be surfing, tennis, hiking or even running. Look into a local social sport if team sports are more your thing.

5. Watch the alcohol

A big culprit for weight gain is excessive alcohol drinking. If you are going to indulge in a few drinks then look at spirits and soda water, that way you aren’t consuming excessive sugar in the mixes as well as the extra calories from the booze.
