Top 4 Reasons to Purchase a Stair Lift

By Dean Shaw · On December 12, 2013

Many homes come with staircases, which can be both practical and decorative in the home. At a certain age or when injury strikes, stairs can become a daily struggle. While there’s always the option of moving and finding a home without a staircase, this can be really unappealing if the house you live in has been your home for a long time. You shouldn’t have to leave your home! There’s an easy solution to this and it comes in the form of a stair lift. Stairlifts in the home give you your mobility back and allow you to continue living in your home. There’s a number of benefits to purchasing a stair lift, so we’ve compiled this list of top 4 reasons to invest in a stair lift:

1) Independent Living
A good quality stair lift makes getting around your home a breeze and allows you to maintain your independence. Installing a stair lift means that you’ll be able to comfortably get up and down your home’s stairs without causing injury to yourself.

2) It Allows you to Age at Home
The family home can be very special, a lot of special memories are often there and just because you are not as agile as you once were, does not mean you should have to leave your home. The added independence and safety a stair lift provides you with, ensures you can stay in your home.

3) Reduces the Risk of Falls and Injury
For anyone who has struggled with stairs before, it can be quite scary navigating stairs if you are not feeling particularly strong. There’s also the risk of a fall being life threatening, especially if you live alone, so installing a stair lift reduces the risk of injuries on the stairs.

4) Relief from Temporary Disabilities
If you’ve suffered a recent injury, had an operation and will be recovering, the stair lift is a great aid in this time of difficulty. It is not comfortable having half of your home cut off to you while you recover from injury. A stair lift allows you the freedom to maintain some level of normality after a temporary disability.

Above all, stair lifts give people their freedom and independence back, which is an invaluable investment.
