Are you trying to search for a family-friendly destination that’s not miles away? You may want to consider heading to Cornwall – a lovely family holiday destination with so many things to do, you may want to extend your holiday there. Whether you want to do a whole family surfing school, go on some incredible walks and hikes, have a fun beach holiday or even explore a castle. It’s a wonderful destination that children of all ages are going to love. Here are some great suggestions of places to explore in Cornwall, according to Holiday Cottage experts Blue Chip Holidays:
1. Porthmoer Beach (St. Ives)
Located in the world-famous town of St. Ives, Porthmoer Beach is straight from the postcards. This beach has a lot to offer, as it’s one of the only beaches in Cornwall that holds the highly regarded Blue Flag Award, meaning that the beach has high water quality, environmental management and safety. It’s a lovely sandy beach, making it the perfect location for a family holiday. The kids can build sand castles on the beach, you could decide to have a picnic on the soft sand or even go out for a dip in the water. It’s also a popular surf beach, which is a great activity for teenage kids. Some of my favourite memories growing up are from days spend soaking in the sun at the beach.
2. Tintagel Castle
I love visiting castles because I love walking through the different areas, wondering what history happened in the very spaces I’m exploring. This particularly castle has a fascinating history and is associated with King Arthur, making it a highly popular tourist attraction. There’s a step bridge you can cross, and on the other side on the island you can see a wonderful statute of the famous King Arthur. The castle grounds are beautiful and have striking views – this is a great place to explore for an afternoon.
3. Quicksilver Surf School Newquay
If your kids or other family members are water lovers, then surfing is probably a sport they’ve tried or wanted to try for some time. This school has an excellent reputation for getting newbie surfers out on the water, and up on their boards. Everything is included, such as wetsuits to keep warm and surf boards so you don’t need to bring anything with you. This is a great activity to do as a family, or a fun thing to sign the kids up for so you can go out and enjoy some of the excellent bars and pubs in Cornwall.
Cornwall has so much to offer a family trip, so create some incredible memories with your family that will last a lifetime.
