Ticking off the bucket list

By Dean Shaw · On November 14, 2014

What activities are on your bucket list? There are some things that everyone seems to want to do, but few rarely get the chance to do, or dare to actually go through with. Holidays are the perfect time to tie in these activities, meaning you get to experience something amazing, in an amazing and new place.

Of course, these things will probably cost you a fair amount, so it’s important to save money wherever you possibly can. A good way to cut costs on travel plans is to look at how you get to the airport in the first place. Do you book expensive public transport and taxis? I used to do this, but then I decided to drive myself and booked Heathrow parking terminal 5 for the first time. Nowadays I have this on my booking list when it comes to sorting out my travel plans, and I always book my airport parking with ParkBCP, because I’m always quoted a great price, and the level of service is second to none. If you’re interested in saving money and saving stress, certainly check out this idea.

With a little extra cash in your pocket you’ll be in a better place to take part in those activities you’ve always dreamed of. I always wanted to swim with dolphins, and even though I’m a non-swimmer, I made this dream a reality when I visited Discovery Cove in Orlando. The staff were fantastic, and made my dream come true through plenty of encouragement and support. You can do this at many different destinations the world over, and it’s probably one of those things that most people dream of doing.

Extreme sports might be more your kind of thing, such as bungee jumping, abseiling, or even skydiving. On a smaller scale, parasailing is a great way to ease yourself into these kinds of sports, in a kind of try before you buy way of thinking. Most coastal resorts will offer you the chance to do this, and Olu Deniz in Turkey is perhaps one of the most scenic Med resorts to take part in this thrilling activity.

New Zealand is probably the best place in the world to try out extreme sports, and by extreme, I mean extreme! Some of the world’s biggest bungee jumps exist here, as well as amazing skydiving opportunities.

Cage swimming with sharks, feeding stingrays, swimming with dolphins, bungee jumping, skydiving, abseiling, rock climbing, hiking up huge mountains, or simply ticking a box that you’ve always wanted to cross from your bucket list – holiday destinations are the perfect places to embark on these activities.
