There’s nowhere more exotic than the Caribbean and the truth is that many of the people out there still keep dreaming about going there at least once in their lives – but do nothing about it. “The Caribbean isles may not be the perfect budget-friendly destination” – this is what most of people think. Yet, same as like any other travel destination, the Caribbean is as budget-friendly as you make it.
St. Lucia can be one of these budget-friendly isles. It has everything you could want from an exotic destination: stunningly soft beaches, a velvet-y sea, palm trees, foods you may not have tried, and flowers that will delight your eyes. And even more, there are hundreds of things to do there – just in case you get bored of the gorgeous scenery. Once you’ve found somewhere to stay, and there are numerous options on the island including Sugar Beach Resort St Lucia, you’ll need to figure out how to spend your time. Here are some suggestions:
Bike Your Way through the Jungle
Of course, it may be hard for some of you to tear apart from the beaches in St. Lucia and it would be completely understandable, as these beaches look as if they were from movies. But if you are looking for a bit of adventure – just enough to feel that you’re in the Caribbean – then you will absolutely love the idea of jungle biking. This will be the same as an organized tour, but instead of a bus you will have your own two feet and a bike at your disposal. There will be a guide and you will stop in essential parts of the trek where the flora and fauna around will be explained to you. Fun and educational!
The Diamond Mineral Baths
The abundant flora in St. Lucia can be explored in another way as well –that is, of course, if you do not want to actually bike your way through it. The Diamond Estate is home to one of the most beautiful and surreal botanical gardens you have probably ever seen and everything will be topped by a mesmerising waterfall coloured in warm rusty colours – clearly showing that there’s a lot of minerals in the water.
The Pigeon Island
For $5 you can enter in an entirely different world – a haunting and haunted one. The Pigeon Island is often visited by the tourists because of its wonderful ruins that make it appear like s ghost-town. Get right into the wilderness of this island and explore the remains of what used to be an actual town. Walk through an almost 200 years old kitchen, admire the ruins and let yourself be overwhelmed by the air and fragrance of a time when things were so much different than they are today – and from all points of view.
