Essential Vitamins Your Body Needs

By Dean Shaw · On September 24, 2014

Our bodies are perfect mechanisms that need to be fueled with food, water and proper sleep. Getting the right foods into your body is more than essential for its good functioning. After all, you do get gas in your car and you do plug in your laptop when you want to recharge its battery, right? Why wouldn’t you do the same with your body too?

There are certain vitamins that should be considered crucial for your body. Which are they and how can you get them? Where can you buy them? You can use a chemist online to order vitamins for really affordable prices. Read on and find out more!

Vitamin A

This one is absolutely essential for good sight, for the body’s growth and for your hair and nails as well. The most commonly encountered food where you can get plenty of this vitamin is none other than the carrot.

Vitamin C

Aside from making our bodies stronger in front of the cold weather, vitamin C is also very important for iron absorption, skin elasticity, strong blood vessels and so on. You can find it in citric fruits, guava, strawberries, cantaloupe, green peppers and in many other fruits and vegetables.

Vitamin E

Also great for the skin, vitamin E is very important when it comes to protecting your body from the free radicals out there. Even more than that, it is extremely efficient in improving blood circulation as well. You will find this in all sorts of nuts, in sunflower seeds and (as surprising as it may be) in tomatoes too.

B Vitamins

These ones (there are more than one B vitamin) improve our immunity, they are important for the iron absorption and they help our bodies create more energy as well. Whole grains, potatoes, bananas, molasses and many other delicious (and common!) foods are extremely rich in the various forms vitamin B can take.

Vitamin D

This vitamin is crucial for your bones and it can strengthen them almost miraculously. Eggs, certain types of fish and mushrooms are known to be abundant in vitamin D. Also, spending time in the sun (at least a bit and always wearing sunscreen) is very important for your body because it will stimulate vitamin D production.

Vitamin K

This particular type of vitamin is important for blood coagulation, so make sure you get plenty of it. There are many natural sources from which you can get vitamin K, but the richest ones tend to be leafy greens such as spinach and kale.

Aside from these vitamins, you will also want to make sure you get plenty of the essential minerals as well. For instance, Iron is
important for you because it keeps your blood healthy and because it helps you build muscle as well (and you will find it in oysters, liver, beans, spinach and lentils as well). Also, calcium, chromium, folic acid and magnesium play a very important role in the health of your body, so make sure you get plenty of them too!

Keep your diet balanced, keep yourself active and your body will thank you for it!
