I’m big on drinks and not necessarily just the type with alcohol! I love starting my day with a hot coffee, it changes my mood and gives me the energy burst I need to really make the most of my time. Life is busy and with everything we have to juggle, it’s nice having something like a coffee to look forward to in the mornings. If you’re like me, then you might struggle to drink as much water as you’re supposed to each day, so I have a few little hacks for getting around that issue. Then on special occasions and after a hard day’s work, there’s nothing more that I love than a nice glass of red wine. Here are my favourite drinks I can’t live without:
1. Coffee
Whoever discovered coffee and turned it into the delicious drink we enjoy today deserves a medal or two. I love coffee as a way to start my day, as something to do to connect with friends, and as a much needed energy boost to get through my piles of work. The great thing about coffee is you can have it any time of day and it’s socially acceptable, although I try to avoid drinking it after 4pm as it can affect my sleep. I always like to have some good quality beans at home so that if I have a guest I can offer them a lovely cup when they’re visiting. Even though it’s something I have every morning, I often forget to buy more coffee when I’m at the supermarket, so I like having freshly roasted coffee beans to buy now delivered to my door each week. That way I’m never caught without them!
2. Sparkling Water
Sparkling water is one of those things you’re either going to love or hate and I personally love it! I drink it by itself, or mix it in with other things to have that pop feeling without all the sugar and additives. For example I’ll buy some fresh orange juice, and instead of drinking it straight, I’ll mix it 50/50 so I can have my own healthier version of Fanta without all the calories and food colourings. Adding a little bit of lemon makes an easy lemonade that’s healthy for you and great for your digestion. As the warmer months come along, I find having a few bottles of sparkling water in my fridge to be a lifesaver.
3. Some Delicious Wine
I like to always have a few bottles of red wine on hand, whether it’s to celebrate a special occasion or simply to have something to share with friends when they visit. A nice quality bottle of wine also makes for a good gift for a host or birthday in a pinch, so that’s another reason I always like to keep them on hand. I find it easier to set up regular wine deliveries as I find the prices to be more competitive than I can find locally and it means I know I’ll always have a decent stock of wine. Check out Naked Winery for a great wine membership option, they’re one of the best companies I’ve found for wine delivery.
