Tips for Hacking Your Life

By Dean Shaw · On April 15, 2014

Do you find yourself feeling overworked and lacking the time to spend doing things you love? Maybe you find juggling home responsibilities with work impossible? There are some ways to hack your life to ensure that you have even more time for those people, and things, you love. Life should be balanced between your responsibilities and things you enjoy doing. Often we neglect ourselves and our hobbies in order to make more money or to help others. Here are some suggestions of how you can hack your life to gain more time.

1) Hire Some Home Help

It’s easy to find people to hire for household staff jobs by way of the Internet. Just simply search for what you’re looking for, whether for a nanny, butler, chef, cleaner or gardener and browse through the options available. If it’s your first time hiring someone to help around the home, it might feel a little intimidating but if you use a reputable company it should help to alleviate some of the concerns you may have. The benefits to hiring some household staff are obvious: more time to do the things you love, things can be taken care of in your absence and so forth. Hiring some home help can make a large difference to your life and generally well worth the investment.

2) Prepare Your Meals in Advance

If you’re busy, often commuting long distances or working ridiculous hours, prepping your meals in advance can save you so much time. On the weekends you can prepare a week’s worth of meals and then simply bake or reheat the meal to enjoy. It might sound like a lot of planning is involved, but it will save you so much prep and cooking time.

3) Employ some Virtual Staff

This is really important if you’re self employed, because it will allow you to free up some time to focus on other jobs, but it can be of value to anyone. Are you terrible at organising your emails and often accidentally let emails fall to the bottom? You can hire a virtual assistant to manage that. Maybe you’re studying at university and have a massive research project coming up and would like some assistance with that? Hire a VA to compile relevant documents for you. You can hire VAs in almost any country in the world, but the Philippines is quite popular because they have a good level of English and you can hire a VA from $3 per hour and up. It’s a great way to delegate some tasks to free up some time for the things you love.

Life shouldn’t be all work and no play! Use these tips to make your life even more fun, less stress and to increase your free time.
